The Story
From the Desert Cotton collection, mn's first study of UAE flora.

The pattern on this scarf was made by the sun. Clippings of desert cotton (الآرا) were photographed, layered, and set into a negative, then laid over treated paper outdoors. Over a day of exposure, the light turned the paper blue and left the plant's shape in its own shade. That print was then carried onto satin.
